Hand Washing/ Double Washing
The correct technique for handwashing is:
-
Use running warm water and soap
-
Scrub hands and rinse thoroughly ( approximately 20 seconds)
-
Dry hands with single-use towl, or hand dryer
When to Double Wash:
-
After using the toilet and once more when you return to the work area
-
After sneezing, caughing, blowing nose, touching eyes, nose or mouth
-
Before starting work
-
Anytime hands come into contact with body fluids
-
After using tobacco products, smoking
-
After eating or drinking
